ZINDA means 'Alive' and these rugs definitely bring life to your room! Our Zinda range was inspired by a single sample of an old-fashioned frilled rag rug. When placed in our shop in Scotland, it attracted much comment from our older customers who remembered making similar articles in their younger days. They spoke of a time when Western society was more careful with its resources. Fitted floor coverings were far less common and so it was normal practice for old clothing and bed sheets to be cut into strips and woven into rugs to bring warmth to the home. Whilst some cultures have left the practice behind, there are others who have continued, and they have much to teach us. We love the lively feel of these rugs, but we also love the obvious message about the need for society to recycle whenever possible.

CHOOSE FROM SIX SIZES - If you are looking to mix and match a little then you will find four sizes to choose from. A small 60 cm x 90 cm or 75 cm x 140 cm; a medium 90 cm x 150 cm; a large 120 cm x 180 cm and a long runner in 60 cm x 200 cm. and a square 100 cm x 100 cm Perfect for many spaces in the home and a lovely gift too.

ECO-FRIENDLY – These gorgeous rugs are made from recycled fabric offcuts which arise during garment production. By weaving them into a new product, we are helping to reduce waste. The flat weave style is produced on a traditional hand loom and no machinery is involved. Each one is unique since no two patterns, material or colours are identical. For that reason, please treat the photographs as representative since each rug is random.

ETHICALLY SOURCED - Produced by one of our favourite GoodWeave suppliers and part of a closed network of certified producers. Each rug is individually numbered so that you can be sure of its unique handling and its ethical source. Our certification fees help to fund education centres for children and young people.

INDIVIDUALLY MADE - Please note the images shows you the type of rug you will receive, everyone has been made using individual fabric, so every rug is different so please allow for variations in colour and fabric design.

CARE OF YOUR RUG - Please shake or use gentle spot cleaning. Take care not to dislodge the fabric.
